Saturday Sayings 2026 OCT: R.C. Sproul

R.C. Sproul (1939-2017) was one of the most influential Reformed theologians in the late 20th century and into the early 21st century. R.C. (Robert Charles) was a conservative Presbyterian minister, former pastor of St. Andrews Chapel, founder of Ligonier Ministries, and author of several Christian books.

“You can’t love Jesus and not love his Word.” #RCSproul

This quote is short, sweet, and true. I believe loving God’s word equals reading and studying it daily, making it one of the most important things we do in our lives.

“How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:103-105

The Bible should be a part of our daily lives.

“Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day.” Psalm 119:97

And as believers, instructed to imitate God by walking in the ways of Christ as revealed in His word, we can know His will for our lives through studying the Bible.

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:1-2

The word of God is precious, and holy and good, and it directs our paths!

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
